The Art Center College of Design here in Pasadena has a new exhibit up ("Open House: Architecture and Technology for Intelligent Living"), featuring the future of architecture of the home. As you can see, the architects aren't about to limit themselves to anything resembling, oh, you know, a house.
Elise Kleeman of the SGVT asks, "What does your dream home look like?" My answer: not like a hybrid of an asparagus head and a brussel sprout, thank you very much.
Of course, these proposals are actually kind of cool, including a "Jellyfish House," that actually helps clean the environment rather than contaminating it (don't ask me how that happy vision is realized). And heck, they beat the pants off the old Los Angeles vision of the future, where we all lived in pods. Poor Los Angeles, defeated again.
