The Pasadena Agenda

It's Monday and you know what that means. All through Pasadena, visions of licentious masseuses and Human Relations Commissioners will dance through the heads of all good Pasadenans as they sleep, awaiting Tuesday morning when they'll find out what happened at the City Council meeting.

Okay, those sugar-plum fairies probably won't interrupt most folks' dreams, but that's just because they don't know what they're missing. We're going to miss the meeting again (which is a darn shame, since they'll be back in City Hall tonight), but we've been poking through tonight's agenda to see what's coming up.

#3 on the list looks interesting: "RESOLUTION TO CONSIDER GRANTING NON-EXCLUSIVE SOLID WASTE FRANCHISES AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING." Okay, it's not New York, but the trash business in the Foothill Cities is a notoriously under-reported business. Everyone has a trash and contracts to carry it away can be quite lucrative. This will probably only get a passing nod tonight, but we'll check the video to see if we can't learn a little more.

Also, we hear that a group of partisans for the Arroyo may show up to make a fuss over the illegal taking of frogs from the casting pond. Apparently, taking tadpoles isn't such an innocent activity and if you're over 16, you need a fishing license. Of course, the takings are a moot point if the city continues, as in years past, to drain the pond before the tadpoles turn into frogs.

And, if we're really lucky, the council may come to a happy finish (as Mr. Ruiz might put it) on the massage parlor issue. If there's any other meat on the bones of this council meeting, we'll let you know tomorrow.
