The Glendora Police Strike Again

No, they're not bringing the fury of the force down on sticker protesters. They're heading up the Los Angeles County anti-drunk driving efforts over the St. Patrick's Day weekend.

"Our goal is to ensure the safe passage of each and every motorist by targeting roads where there is a high frequency of drunk driving," said CHP Officer Bill Preciado.
The "Avoid the 40 Los Angeles County DUI Task Force" is coordinated by the Glendora Police Department. It is funded by a three-year $1-million-plus grant and includes personnel from 40 public safety agencies.
Worthy ambitions, to be sure. "Avoid the 40," though, doesn't seem quite holiday appropriate; perhaps "Avoid the Guinness" might get the point across better.
