But Monrovia's Already Pretty Green...
Monnrovia’s City Council has asked for a comprehensive set of administrative policies to help reduce the community’s contribution to global warming.
Mayor Rob Hammond led the city council in asking for the policies...
Local solutions, he said, could involve such diverse actions as adopting new land-use policies to preserve more open space and create more compact, walkable communities; offering and promoting new modes of public transportation, increasing the rate of residential and business recycling; planting more trees or increasing the fuel efficiency of the city’s vehicle fleet. Green building, educational programs and alternative energy sources are all part of the strategies being discussed.
