Frui-its of the Pomona City Council
Oddly, the council earlier in the evening sold an empty lot in the Pomona Auto Center to a developer in under a minute, without a word of explanation. Research reveals the city will get $1 million for the land, save more than $700,000 a year in fees and gain a Saturn dealership. In any other city, even ones without image problems, a council member would ask for a brief report so everyone could bask in the glow of success. C'mon, Pomona. Don't be so shy.
