Chief Romero & Pomona PD Host "Gang Awareness Training"
Not surprisingly given my previous post, Monica Rodriguez of the Daily Bulletin reports that "[t]he Pomona Police Department will host a gang awareness training session later this month to provide residents and businesses with a better understanding of the issue." Fair enough.
The local headlines don't change much: Jennifer McLain of the Daily Bulletin tells us that "[a]n Ontario man is dead and five others wounded following what authorities are calling a gang-related shooting early Sunday at a house party."
Officers found the victim "dead in the street," shot multiple times beyond recognition. Apparently he "had a tattoo that said 'Pomona' on his chest." Doesn't take gang awareness training to figure that one out.
Also in the Bulletin, Monica Rodriguez continues the paper's focus on crime by detailing the efforts of James Henwood, president and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles County Fair Association and member of the Pomona Youth and Family Master Plan Steering Committee.
